The Egg Bistro x Big Ugly Brewing Collaboration Series

Great Beer. Great Music. Great Friends.

Some of the best things in life happen when passionate people come together around a shared experience. That's exactly how our collaboration with Big Ugly Brewing began.

As longtime supporters of local businesses, craft beer, and the communities that bring people together, we've been fans of Big Ugly Brewing since the day they opened their doors. From the very beginning, they made us feel like family. Their commitment to quality, creativity, and community mirrors the values we've built The Egg Bistro on for more than two decades.

What started as a mutual appreciation for great beer evolved into something more—a collaboration series inspired by friendship, shared experiences, and a lifelong love of music.

For the owners of The Egg Bistro, music has always been more than background noise. For more than 30 years, we've traveled the country attending Dave Matthews Band concerts, creating memories and friendships that have lasted a lifetime. Since that first show at Trax in Charlottesville in 1992, we've been hooked—not just on the music, but on the community, connection, and joy that surround it.

That passion became the inspiration for our ongoing beer collaboration series with Big Ugly Brewing.

Each release is crafted to tell a story, celebrate an experience, and capture the feeling that keeps us coming back for one more song, one more show, and one more toast with friends.

Crazy Easy IPA

Our first collaboration set the tone for the series.

Brewed with Virginia-grown malts and a diverse blend of hops, Crazy Easy IPA pours a bright golden hue topped with crisp white foam. Aromas of mango, peach, grapefruit, and citrus lead into a clean, refreshing finish with balanced bitterness and tropical fruit character.

At 5.6% ABV, Crazy Easy is approachable, flavorful, and unmistakably local—a Virginia-grown IPA that goes down easy.

Joy Ride IPA

Inspired by the miles traveled, friendships formed, and adventures shared along the way, Joy Ride became the second release in our music-inspired series.

This hazy IPA combines Amarillo and Idaho-7 hops with fresh-squeezed orange pulp to create a beer that drinks like a brunch mimosa in a can. Smooth, juicy, and remarkably crushable at 6.5% ABV, Joy Ride delivers bright citrus character without the aggressive bitterness often associated with IPAs.

It's a tribute to every road trip, every tailgate, and every unforgettable night of live music.

Summer Tour Shandy

The newest addition to the series celebrates one of the most exciting times of the year—summer concert season.

Summer Tour Shandy captures the anticipation that builds as tour dates are announced, tickets are purchased, and fans prepare to hit the road with friends. Inspired by not only Dave Matthews Band's legendary summer tours but the excitement surrounding live music everywhere, this refreshing collaboration was brewed for long days, warm nights, and unforgettable experiences.

A crisp lager is blended with house-made lemonade and finished with a touch of pink Himalayan salt for a bright, thirst-quenching finish. At 4.9% ABV, it's refreshing, easy-drinking, and perfectly suited for patios, beach days, festivals, and summer adventures.

More Than Beer

These beers are more than limited releases. They represent the friendships we've built, the communities we support, and the experiences that bring people together.

Whether you're sharing brunch with family, enjoying a pint with friends, discovering a new favorite band, or revisiting an old one, we hope these collaborations remind you to slow down, enjoy the moment, and celebrate the people around you.

This series is a tribute to local craft beer, live music, and the memories that stay with us long after the last song ends.

Cheers to great beer, great music, and the next adventure.
